Online desk : Another breakthrough for assam police against bike theft . On tuesday night, Silchar Sadar Thana police recovered 12 bikes and 9 scooters in various areas of Silchar Rangpur, Bashkandi and Udharband. Along with the recovery of these 20 two-wheelers, a total of 8 people were arrested. Among them is Nanda Babu Singh (60), an official of AIUDF.Apart from Nanda Babu, a resident of Rongpur II Block, Shakil Laskar (20), Diloar Hossain Laskar (20), Afzal Hossain Laskar (18) and Abdul Hossain Laskar (19) of Madhurband Chirua area of Silchar, Ranjit Rabidas (25) of Badripa III Block Binbasti, Lakshmipur have been arrested. Yusuf Ali (20) of Alipur Bagan area and Rubel Uddin Laskar (28) of Silchar Madhurband Nazrul Sarani. Superintendent of Police Numal Mahato said that the accused were involved in a big inter-state bike and scooty theft ring. They also have associates in neighboring states. It is also being investigated whether they have connections outside the country or abroad. Several “master keys” including number plates and other items used in theft were seized from the suspects during the raid.
