Online desk : The CBI after being involved with the Silchar – Imphal rail line construction scandal has made shocking revelations about the embezzlements made by the contractor of the project and the owners of the Bhartia Intra Project Limited- Ramawatar Bhartia, Pawan Kumar Bharatia, Avinash Bhartia and Shankar Prasad More have now been arrested .Many rail engineers and contractors have found to be corruptly involved in this scam.
The CBI was ordered from Delhi to investigate the case and to look upon the enquiries which started in February 2023, after a raid at the NFR construction office and at the residence of Santosh Kumar who was the senior section officer of the railway department. Deposition of nearly 75 Lakhs were made by the BIPL group to the accounts of Santosh Kumar’s wife and father in law. The CBI extracted and seized many important documents during this raid, the sources mentioned that the BIPL has been embezzling crores of rupees .This scandal has raised serious questions about the transparency and accountability in major infrastructure projects, and CBI’s investigation serves as a crucial step towards ensuring justice in this matter. The authorities are expected to take swift action against the culprits to bring them to justice and prevent such instances of corruption in the future.
