Online desk : Assam Rifles while patrolling in Ranighat located 15 kms away from Silchar seized lethal explosives at Altaf bridge, at 9PM sunday . The battalion of Assam rifles during their search operation seized 200 gelatin sticks and 200 detonators near the Altaf bridge , at Ranighat. The Assam rifles were alert of two individuals who were transporting a bag of explosives . According to Assam rifles source – the individuals might have sensed the security and they backed out abandoning the bag of explosives near Altaf bridge and fled the scene.
The seized gelatin and detonators have now been handed over to the police and have been kept at Arunachal Police station. The Assam rifles successfully averted a possible catastrophe.
